Jason Brunner's Bike at Born Free 3

Alberta, Canada's, Jason Brunner thrashed on this bike for weeks before slinging it in the back of his buddy's truck and heading south to Born Free 3. With zero shakedown time he was lucky to make it at all, but he pulled it off, and we're glad he did. Here's what he has to say…

This bike was a roller three weeks before the show, with engine still in need of rebuilding. It was a long hard push with many late nights in the garage. Good thing I have a very supportive wife and some great buddies! It fired up for the first time a week before the show. Not really any break-in riding with the long drive ahead of us. Spent three days prior to Born Free wrenching on it just to be able to ride it to the show. Hell, the tank on it was delivered on the day we were leaving Calgary, and was mounted the day before the show.

Location: Airdrie, Alberta, Canada 

Engine, year and make, model, modifications: 1976 Triumph 750, 5-speed left side jockey shift, right side foot clutch (old Honda shifter and splined shaft mated to the stock ramp and ball assembly) fresh rebuild, balanced crank; was originally a Bonnie, but I swapped heads. Full polished cases and head, which is something I will pay others to do next time.

Frame: front section is stock '69 TR6, rear is from Willie G frameworks (now defunct)

Fork: stock late style shuttle valves with MCM fork covers

Chassis mods: Pretty happy with the rear fender mounts, tried to make them look like an old brazed piece

Tire/wheel size and style: Front 21" NOS Dunlop mated to a mid '70s Husky dirt bike hub; rear 18" rim on stock hub, chromed, Wassell rear wheel. Both wheels were rebuilt with polished stainless spokes.

Favorite thing about this bike: After starting it in '05, it is finally getting close to be finished!  

Next modification will be: Finishing the stuff I couldn't get done before BF3 like engraving and the front brake arm.

Other mods, accessories, cool parts, etc: NOS chrome ribbed Wasell fender, NOS cat face taillight, NOS Hap Jones tank with rubber mounts from special '79. Old flanders or stellings bars rechromed.
