HOTP: Greasy Kulture Magazine Issue 85

Issue 85 marks fifteen years of Greasy Kulture; back in 2007 when the first issue appeared, Max Schaaf was already turning heads and dropping jaws with his fresh take on the traditional chopper theme. So it's fitting that he's on the cover of the new issue with his '46 Knucklehead – 'Moochie's Knuck' – a bike with a rich bay area history and a great back story. If you have a long memory you may remember that we featured Maru from Tokyo's '48 Panhead 12 years back... so what's evolved on this super cool, original and hard-ridden chopper? We ask him. [Photos: Suntee/Mochi]

David Mann only ever painted two Triumphs; one of them was in his first painting, 'Hollywood Run'. Jared Weems decided to recreate the chopper – the second Mann bike he's turned into reality – and here are the radical results! [Photos: Flip Na]

Sean Madigan built his '50 Panhead the old fashioned way – by patiently collecting and fixing up parts other people had thrown away, using hand tools in his home shed in Toronto. This righteous bob-job is the result. [Photos: Dick Loek]

A '56 stroker Panhead chopper named Sea Nymph? You just know there's got to be a salty tale behind the building of Joey Zentil's Harley, built for go not just show. [Photos: Patrick Moore]

Mark Gale decided to build himself a vintage Harley beach racer; but he did it the hard way, combining a VL with a UL and adding a generous smattering of home-made and heavily modified parts. Sheer British ingenuity! [Photos: Garry Stuart]

Reckon you can no longer say 'old Harley' and 'budget build' in the same sentence? Jason Mellers in the UK proves you can still build a reliable and righteous Shovelhead chopper without having to break the bank.

You can buy your copy of Issue #85 here and be sure to give GKM a follow on Facebook and Instagram.
