Double Vision

Trey and Tyler Guidry are twin brothers, riding V-twin motorcycles. They have a “twin vision” for building choppers, riding them places, and living the dream. In just two short years, I have done three features on these brothers, each time with different bikes. As I type this, I know Trey has sold the bike we’re featuring here and moved on to build a pan that he is now riding.

I hear a lot about “hipster this” and “hipster that” when folks see young men on vintage choppers. Let me tell you, I don’t wrench nearly as much as I would like to and certainly not as much as the Guidry brothers. When I see guys like them 15 years younger than me turning wrenches on 30-60 year old motors, I have faith that there is another generation of bikers growing strong and wise, respecting the past and building a chopper future.

The style of bike that these two brothers build makes my pulse race and my heart sing. Bare bones get the job done. These bikes are functional and rough around the edges, but they are still pretty enough to draw the eye. The simplicity and homage to chopper days gone by is evident in every build they turn out. The icing on the cake is that they actually use them to go to events and break them. What a novel idea: actually using your motorcycle to do more than go to the bar and pose.

I’m pretty sure these dudes are lifers already. Here’s a look at a little photo shoot we did near the compound that these two and many of the Columbus cats call home.

on the blue 75 , does anyone know the maker of that air cleaner and where to get filters for it? thanks

Can't remember the maker but I used to have that filter on my Volkswagen bug.
It sat on top of a Holley 2bbl carb.

Nice work guys! I especially like the shotgun bottle end mufflers....I have the same setup on my 54 panshevo (54/77/81/91). Awesome to see that real choppers are still being built...and that square air cleaner...yeah memories...had the same set up on a shovel years ago...a Solex 2 bbl side draft. Oh well....1st HD at 16....and am still garage building chops 47 years later.

Great job gents.

Can anyone tell me the geometry of the frame on the Black Cherry, or which Paugho frame that is? It is just about perfect for my shovel. Thanks
