SUBMISSIONS FOR THE 2020 GREASY DOZEN BUILDER COLLECTIVE ARE NOW OPEN!!!

"Do you have a build that's been dragging, did life get in the way? It's time to dust it off! Once again, we are putting a focus on stalled projects and giving people support and a reason to turn out a show-quality bike they can be proud of!

First off, everyone always wants to know what they will get or how the winner is chosen. So let's clarify a few things it's not a competition all 12 selected builders get support via gift cards. There are technically 12 winners, chosen by our team with a lucky 13 winner announced the day after the first 12. The 13th is always a unique background story or someone in hardship, hence the lucky 13th!

Who can win? We focus on garage builders and small shops with two employees or less. We want to help people finish builds where life got in the way, giving them support and the camaraderie of connecting with 12 other builders via our builder group DM. You will have about six months to complete your build in time to attend the run. (Details to come about the run)

What you win is gift cards from a long list of great companies that have supported the #greasydozenbuildercollective to name a few: Old Bike Barn, Biltwell, Lowbrow Customs, Led Sled Customs, Indian Larry Motorcycles, ChopCult, and S&S Cycle. The Greasy Dozen Builder Collective has always been about giving back to the average joe that supports these companies, with support going directly to the builders from our awesome sponsors. Part of the DNA of the GD is that it's about giving back to the community, not monetizing it. The event its self, including fireside giveaways, cookout, preparty, bands, and camping, is 100% funded by oldbikebarn.com. We have given away over $100,000 in prizes and support this way, and while its work to put it on, its a labor of love to give something back to the motorcycle community." - The Greasy Dozen

Good Luck, everyone.

Harley K Model Gear Cover

-52 Casting Number (NOT -52A)  It won't work on a Sportster with one-piece shaft/generator idler gear.  This is for the K Model engine only (maybe a 1957 XL still had an idler shaft (like a 45 or a big twin)?

Welcome to Round 1 of the Biltwell People's Champ 2020

"Your job in this democratic process is to select the 13 builders/bikes that will advance to the next level. Please read through each candidate's latest update here, visit their instagram accounts and decide who you think it worthy.

Scroll all the way to the bottom of this page, pick your favorite 13 and hit the Submit button. Yes, you have to pick 13, so you can't just vote for your best friend and then bounce. We can tell if you try to game the system and cast multiple votes, so don't try, the votes will only get deleted.

Thanks for voting!

We will announce the 13 semi-finalists sometime Monday the 18th on Instagram and Facebook: @biltwell_peoples_champ and @biltwell" - Biltwell

Welcome ZEPP HEADS to the Chopper Fest

We want to welcome the Led Zeppelin tribute band ZEPP HEADS to the 16th Annual David Mann Chopper Fest. They deliver a hard-rocking concert experience with classics like "Black Dog," "Lemon Song," and "Kashmir." No costumes, just sharing their love for Led Zeppelin music.

White Boy in Mexico

Above and Below: Ek Balam and the Mayan world . . .

Valladolid

Last month I went to the Yucatan and stayed in Valladolid for a few days, then hiked Ek Balam and went to few cenotes.  I like to stay near Punta Sur (on the south end)of Isla Mujeres too.  This gal at Playa Norte was doing maintenance on her scooter in the street.  Fixing corroded connections, making sure the lights worked, etc.  She bought it new, it was stolen a few times, lost for almost 6 months on one occasion, but she always got it back.  Nice gal.  Everyone I meet in Quintana Roo and Yucatan are nice.  Someday I'll take my WLA down there and get lost for a few years.  I love it there.
