Tim's Ducatster

We featured our friend Tim's sporty on here a little over a year ago and I thought it might be nice to show how this bike has evolved since then. This motorcycle is significant in it's simplicity. It's no uberknuck, but a totally attainable machine for anyone who has aspirations of customizing a sporty without a ton of high end skills or equipment. Tim did have some help from talented friends like Wompy of Still Kickin' but a lot of the ideas were his plenty of the exectuion too. We're not going to bother with specs on this feature, it's mostly about the photos. You can check Tim's old story here for a few specs, and if you gotta know what that silver exhaust is done with, it's simple high-heat silver BBQ paint and seems to be holding up pretty well so far. The name is just tongue in cheek because of Tim's paint choice and because I know he really does want a Ducati!

This is one of the coolest bikes that you've featured......BUT I guess some guys prefer circus-freak rides with bars and pipes sticking up way past their pinheads....to each their own.

This bike right here has single handedly made me want to mod my sportster so bad.

those pipes look eerily similar to a certain XS650......

look bitchin though

I like it better now. I'm thinking the way the tank sits and the splash of color makes a huge difference.

I dig it. The past few months have provided so many Sporty builds here on the CC and just in general and even though most of them aren't the most original thing in the world I'm just glad to see people messing with their bikes. This one may be simple for the fact that it uses so many stock parts and designs but there are a lot of nice details there as well. I'm a die-hard Sporty fan and this thing just looks like fun. I would have left off the white text on the tank though; guess I don't get the joke.

Gottdammit I would ride this bike every day of the week!! Who makes that mirror? I must have one on my FXR, I love how it's like a brush guard/bar end mirror.

Commented on 3-18-2012 At 05:35 am

Mirrors are made by Napoleon.

One of the best looking sporties I've seen on here.
What are the hand controls/levers?

Commented on 3-19-2012 At 06:15 pm

Thanks. The MC is Nissin. The hand controls are typical stock setup that are on jap sport bikes. Bored out to fit 1" bar.

looks better every time! keep it and get a Ducati, you can never have too many bikes.

I dig everything about this bike, especially all the custom mods, the pipes kinda throw me off a little bit, but the bike kills it overall
