While in New Jersey for the 2009 Gypsy Run, we met Herb from Holden, MA, and were instantly bowled over by his tasteful motorbike. In an era where everyone is trying to outdo the last guy with over-the-top paint and megadoses of needless funk, it's refreshing to see a plain Jane machine that's got style for days without being overly extroverted about the whole thing.

Here's a few details, straight from Herb:
- 1951 Pan bottom end with unknown year Shovelheads
- 1951 4-Speed transmission
- 1953 Wishbone frame
- 2-under 33.4 front end
- 21 front/18 rear
- Wassell Banana tank re-done by Jay (Special '79)
- OG (thin) British fender
- Risers by Jay
- Bars by me (you can tell from the welds)
- 1.5-inch belt with Primo clutch
- Mallory ignition with the world's smallest battery
- "Paint" by me
- Old vinyl seat with cheapo p-pad
- Kick shifter out of laziness but I'm starting to like it

Just like I did with Herb.
I was fortunate enough to ride with Herb during the Gypsy Run.
It looks good in the pics and even better moving down to road.
