A lot of people think "build off" right away. I can see how that’s an easy way to describe the GD, but really it's something quite different. The Greasy Dozen is not about 1 winner. It's about supporting grassroots builder culture, 12 luckily winner's, and 250 associated builder's. It's a demonstration of brotherhood and solidarity in the grassroots builder scene. It's fueled by a little elbow grease from me, and boat load of good will from my fellow sponsors. Mix in the collective energy of the community at large and this little contest has turned into something quite special that will carry on year over year.
It's been a popular thread here on Chop Cult, but its also about drawing people into builder culture and showing off motorcycling as we see it. Myself and others have been spreading the good word everywhere we can. We need your help to fuel the movement; so please spread the word on the street and through social media. The Greasy Dozen has been a about working together while doing something different and special to promote "built not bought". For me it’s never been about $100k theme bikes or how much money was spent on chrome and bolt on: what you see in this feature is what many of us live for.
Below you will find some of the highlights so far; from creative photography, drawings, to video and build progress shots... it's been an adventure. The bikes are not done yet so there's more fun to come and magazine overage for the official Dozen. I want to personally thank our generous sponsors for their support. Adnauseum, Biltwell, Burly Brand, David Brid Hard Tails, Indian Larry Motorcycles, Kick Start Cycle Supply, Kundradic Motorcycles, Lowbrow Customs, Lowside Magazine Moore Sensible, Old School Helmets, Old Skool Kool, Rock and Ride, Show Class Magazine, Speed Dealer Customs, TC Bros, Wimmer Cycles, Wrench Magazine. Last but not least I must extend a special thanks to my staff for putting up with the messy logistics of pulling this off while doing their daily chores for Old Bike Barn.

Lostwires build has some clean lines and all this action got him moving on his own site
Example of the winnings, this is Anthony Nocella's pile, plus he scored a David Bird hardtail.
From Shovels to pans to Jap Cafe bikes the GD has a little of everything.
Shane & Dusty put this dope video together!
Loving the lines on Ben and Kevin's build!
Special thanks to Josh Scott of Old School Helmets for his support and this bitching helmet. Helmet supplied by Biltwell.
Some the artsy shots have been fun to inspiration for builders, people like this one by Motorlou
Tattoo artist Jason Boatman believed in our little movement so much he inked it up! Check out his GD Tattoo in this video

Lostwire keeps turning out cool GD art!
Baelzbubchopper was an associated builder and I loved his pre winner announcement antics.
I'm honored to be part of the Greasy Dozen. The GD is great motivation to get me off my ass and in my garage. The sponsors seriously stepped up and came through with tons of parts and support. I couldn't have pulled my winter project together with out them. I really wanted to say thanks to Bear at Old Bike Barn for coming up with the idea of the GD and pulling it all together. I'm sure it was no easy task keeping sponsors, 12 builders, and 250 associate builders on track. Thanks for everything Bear.

Very Happy that I could be a part of this event
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Bear and every single sponsor that is on that list and everyone else for participating in the event, and everyone else who has been watching the progress threads of the bikes being built.
the future of bike building is a sea of individualism. exciting times to a motorcycle freak! I'm honored to be an associated builder. huge thanks to Bear and all the dudes from Old bike barn for igniting the fire of the grass roots bike culture.
Guy's I'm honored by the comments, but the other sponsors are the hero's for me... that was a lot of trust to put in an unproven event and I could not of done it with out all their support. Stay tunned for "Unveil Parties" for builders bikes. -Bear
Bear this is the most bad ass thing i have heard of! Love seeing the guys bikes and all the support from the sponsors and the love of the build. Hate that paint by numbers, bolt on stuff that most do. GD is the shit!
