Deep in the cut of the Georgia mountains in the middle of August, wild ones from all over the region saddled up and headed into Hager Farms for the second Georgia Grundle Run hosted by the Long Brothers. Riders came up from the southern state of Florida, all the way down from Maryland, and everywhere in between for a weekend of catching up, chopper games, wrestling, and getting away from the everyday drag.
The ever-present rain didn’t keep anyone from having a good time, the skies cleared up long enough to get the ride and games in, and the showers worked to cool everything down, at least for a little while. At its heart, the event’s goal was to raise money for a young boy’s family who’s been going through a real ringer of time, and helping out where they could.
Through donations from the event, they were able to raise $5K to help the family out along the way. Keep your eyes open for details for next year’s event, and if your schedule opens up, it’s most definitely worth the trip.
I’d like to extend a big thanks to the Long Brothers and everyone involved with the event and all of the behind-the-scenes planning. It was an excellent time, and I look forward to making the trip again next year.
Be sure to follow my friends at the Georgia Grundle Run and Long Brothers Choppers for upcoming information on year three.
