We all know the motorcycle world is very male dominated but there’s a new wave of women riders sharing the road. More women are coming off the p-pads to claim ownership of their own machines. Lanakila “Lana” MacNaughton’s imagery has brought them to the front of the pack. She captures the pure essence of the rider, who seems to be one with the road. Lana’s work has graced the cover of Iron and Air Magazine and she was also featured in Issue 51 of Dice Magazine, which is available now. When you have the opportunity to speak to Lana you come to realize she is a true talent that isn’t big headed, yet humbled by the accolades given to her by her peers and followers. I’m sure we will be seeing a lot from Lana in the next few months and I for one wish her all the best.

You recently had your first exhibition titled the Women's Moto Expo in Seattle . Why do you focus on women riders? My first show was in Portland Oregon at See See Motorcycle's this past July. The traveling show is called, “The Women's Motorcycle Exhibition" to document and expose the new wave of fearless, independent and courageous female motorcyclists. The show features a variety of women from different riding backgrounds, ages and cultures who are getting off the back of their boyfriends bike and buying a bike. I am eager to have different communities and avenues host the series to help aid in the discover and community of women riders around the globe.

Where will your work be seen next? I just headlined the Caferacerxxx and Loaded Gun Custom one year anniversary show and am scheduled for my next show this December at the Riverside Museum of Art in December.

Anyone you would like to thank: All the women that have let me photograph them and have guided and supported me through the process and my family. Chop Cult, Biltwell, Iron and Air, Moto Lady, Loaded Guns Customs, Ginger from New Church Moto, The Selvedge Yard, Cafe Racer XXX, See See Motorcycles, Dice, The Shop Vancouver and anyone who has blogged or supported the show and all my followers on Instagram!! THANK YOU!

You guys need to realize how difficult this is, riding on the back of the bike; looking through waist level finder, and shooting with two hands.
Manual focus, press trigger, advance film, repeat. Oh and don't fall off.
Much respect!
