Andy's Gasbox Ironhead

Part two of this month's Gasbox trilogy gives CC readers a peek at this stunning Harley XL. A paradigm of detailed understatement, the ironhead young Jesse Bassett built for a man named Andy is a stunner from every angle.

Jesse was sick when I bombarded the one-man master crafter with questions about his business and the bikes he builds there, so no litany of tech details was forthcoming. That being said, Jesse is a friendly character who's quick with a laugh and a smile, and I think he prefers to let the machinery do the talking. We're cool with that, brother. Thanks for letting us stick our nose in your buisiness.

Bike owner: Andy

Builder: Jesse Bassett

Frame model and mods, if any: H-D XL front section with Gasbox rigid rear

Motor mods and details: 1976 Harley Sportster rebuilt by Gasbox with PB+ cams, 9:1 compression pistons, balanced flywheels, Andrews tranny gears and S&S carburetor

Custom-fabbed bits: Gasbox handlebars, gas tank, rear fender, oil tank, exhaust, foot controls, license plate bracket and battery box

Front wheel specs: 19” Avon Speedmaster tire with stainless spokes and modified BSA front drum brake

Really digging this bike, awesome job. The simplicity of the build is what makes it so awesome cause it's not busy and distracting. Beautiful!

Very clean and simple. Understated and it flows so nicely. I'm digging the shade of blue too. I was thinking of that same color for my shovel project.
